WASHINGTON - D.C. officials have announced they are ramping up security at places of worship following a deadly mass shooting at a Pittsburgh synagogue. The shooting caused "multiple casualties" at a Pittsburgh synagogue on Saturday, during a Sabbath prayer service.

PITTSBURGH — Police said a suspect was in custody after a shooting caused multiple fatalities at a Pittsburgh synagogue on Saturday. The gunman opened fire around 10 a.m. during a baby naming ceremony at the Tree of Life Synagogue in the city’s Squirrel Hill neighborhood.
